Job Description: A leading PLASTIC molding facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota area is searching for a Material Manager. Company offers excellent salary and benefits. Position will direct and coordinate activities in materials and distribution of raw materials, equipment, machinery and supplies.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for all inventory for production, including maintenance, quality & inspection and JIT delivery
• Lead the logistics and materials team
• Negotiate with supplier to ensure optimum cost, delivery and quality of raw materials
• Prepare department budgets and monitor purchases
• Receive orders from customers and issue orders to Production
• Responsible for shipping and receiving
• Manage, train and mentor reporting staff
• Maintain inventory levels by ordering materials from suppliers
• Develop procedures to ensure quality and efficiency
• Responsible for both shipping and receiving departments
• Manage value added projects assigned
• Experience working in continuous improvement atmosphere
• Analyze data and prioritize work orders to plan for shifts
• Manage transportation of inbound and outbound goods
• Maintain records, bill of ladings, invoices, purchase orders

 

Requirements include but are not limited to:
• 5-7 years experience working as Materials Manager in Manufacturing
• Skills in using data to analyze root cause and resolve problems
• Technical experience with Microsoft Office
• Inventory Control Management and strong analytical skills
• Must be able to supervise multiple teams and handle multiple tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Hands on working knowledge in continuous improvement and 5s
• Flexible, adaptable with strong process improvement approach
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, Lean & Six Sigma
• Excellent organizational skills and be able to develop a collaborative team


Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business
