Job Description: A leading PLASTIC injection molding facility in Charlotte, North Carolina is searching for a Process Engineer. Position plans and coordinates process development for existing and new injection tooling. Company offers excellent, salary and benefits.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Evaluate injection tooling functions and coordinate modifications
• Provide training and technical support to molding staff and build a scientific molding culture
• Participate in continuous improvement, corrective action and customer satisfaction
• Work with AQP process and provide insight on tool capability
• Develop processes with various materials
• Troubleshoot daily malfunctions
• Work with DOE/statistical analysis on process parameters/controls
• Travel to customers for project and schedule reviews
• Ensure projects meet cost targets and quality requirements
• Hands-on experience with electrical, co-injection, multi-cavity hot runner molds, insert molds, demolding robots and assembly equipment
• Provide leadership training to Process Techs
• Ensure all molds are running to the Master Set Up and changes are documented to ensure all processing is maintained to ISO procedures
• Reduce processing cost through creative engineering and data driven procedures
• Engineer solutions to keep machines consistent at cycle times
• Interact with vendors and equipment manufacturers
• Analyze drawings to understand customer part requirements
• Participate in the qualification of tools in use

 

Requirements include but are not limited to:
• 10 years related experience in injection molding as Process Engineer
• RJG Master Molder 1 Certification preferred
• Knowledge of robotics, automation and processing
• Demonstrated knowledge of SPC, DOE, Geometric Tolerance and blueprint reading
• Strong communication, written, organizational and systems background
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Must be self-driven and be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Train and develop processing staff


Education: Associate's Degree
