Job Description: Our client in beautiful Santa Rosa, CA is searching for a talented Senior Toolmaker to join their plastics manufacturing team. Benefits are excellent and start the first day.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Perform mold modifications and repairs to damaged molds
• Construct new molds and mold components at a high First Pass Yield Rate
• Ability to use a full range of tool room equipment including lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, CNC milling machines and CNC EDM, Wire EDM Machines
• High level of proficiency in CAD and CAM Software (Primary platforms are Solidworks and Master CAM). Including creating shop floor build to drawings for modifications and new components.
• Inspect mold components for damage and/or worn parts. Make a full range of repairs to tight tolerances using all forms of machining, EDM, grinding, milling and turning equipment.
• Troubleshoot mold problems on the manufacturing floor. Correct problems within limits of established company practices.
• Perform insert changes and PM as needed.
• Provide recommendations with tool design enhancements
• Provide molds that will go onto the machine with minimal setup time
• Knowledge and practice of 6S


Qualifications include but are not limited to:
• High School Diploma or equivalent Technical Trade School desired
• Minimum of ten years of hands on mold experience
• Thorough knowledge of tool room machines, inspection and measuring techniques
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work, detail oriented
• Strong written/verbal communication and analytical/troubleshooting skills
• Proficient in CAD CAM (Ideally in Solid Works and MasterCam)
• High level of proficiency with setup and use of CNC equipment
• Knowledge of Tig and or Laser welding a plus but not required
• Excellent planning, leadership, and client relationship skills
• ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 background
• Knowledge and practice of 6S
• Microsoft Office suite & Medical Device manufacturer background preferred
